About me
“May the wind beneath your wings transport you to where the sun sails and the moon walks” (Tolkien)
Hi, everybody!
My name is Luca Granucci and I am a genuine Tuscan ( a Supertuscan!); on the morning of May 3rd 1974 I opened my eyes for the first time and from that moment Tuscany has been my home.
I live in Lamole, a tiny unspoilt village, situated at the very heart of Chianti, midway between the ancient, rival cities of Florence and Siena .
I am a professional Licensed Wilderness Hiking Guide and have been engaged in this fascinating activity since 1999.In the past five years I have gained experience working with important American, Australian, Canadian and British companies.
I organise holidays and walking tours, from easy half-day excursions to arduous fifteen day treks, in the whole of Italy but especially in my beloved Motherland, Tuscany; whose every secret I know.

My clients often ask me what made me become a professional guide. There is no simple answer. I always say that I wanted a life-style without too many complications and I have found it in an activity which gives me incredible happiness and enjoyment as the magic of this marvellous land fills each day of my life.
Ever since I was a child I have sought a close relationship with the surroundings of which I wished to be a significant part. I was brought up in close contact with art and nature; both my parents are artists and for a while I tried to follow in their footsteps but I soon discovered that I was to go down a different path.
I, like Bruce Chatwin, am convinced that “Man’s real home is not a house, but the Road, and that life itself is a journey to be undertaken on foot.”
I love walking for the simple fact that it is the best way to explore a country’s secrets and to admire the fabulous spectacle of nature.I believe that walking is therapeutic, a kind of mantra able to bring about a balance of our energies. For me it is the best way to make contact and be in sympathy with the spiritual part of my being.

I enjoy the company of other people and I like the idea of sharing experiences and emotions with people from different countries and cultures.I love letting myself be influenced by them, by you, because to be a guide does not only mean to be knowledgeable, but also to be able to listen and learn from others.
I have a small piece of land where I keep bees, grow Sangiovese vines and cultivate olive trees so I am able to keep me and my family supplied with honey, wine and extra-virgin olive oil – all produced according to ancient traditions and genuine organic methods.
I am passionate about photography and all the photos on the web-site are mine; they are the result of my travels, my dreams and my life-style.
What else can I tell you? If you would like to know more about me, come and see me. I am ready to walk with you into the world of nature where you will discover your spiritual dimension.
